Nana Yaw Owusu-Banahene, the Country Manager for AZA Finance, highlighted the potential for fintech companies to capitalize on implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by designing cross-border payment platforms. Speaking at the third edition of The Money Summit in Accra, Nana Yaw Owusu-Banahene emphasized the numerous opportunities for fintech companies to provide services and solutions to players in the intra-African trade space. He suggested that the development of additional payment platforms could facilitate seamless cross-border transactions and improve the efficiency of financial markets. Mr. Banahene also noted ongoing collaborations between banks and fintech companies to cater to the Ghanaian consumer, particularly by leveraging fintech’s technological advancements to reach the unbanked population. He encouraged fintech players to leverage the AfCFTA platform to enter new markets and deliver high-quality services. The summit, organized by the Business and Financial Times, aimed to foster investor confidence, address the challenges the average Ghanaian business faces, and discuss the latest trends and opportunities in Africa’s financial landscape
